Gladiators of Aphrodisias Graffiti

In the ancient city of Aphrodisias, someone in the crowd sketched what they had just watched. The plaque shows a Retiarius, armed with trident and net, fighting a Secutor, armed with sword and shield. Historians believe a spectator sketched the scenes firsthand, capturing the arena from a fan's point of view. A small, personal trace of the same instinct that drives people to record what they witness today.
